Czech Railways (České dráhy) is the sole provider of direct train connections to Warsaw from the Czech Republic. You can travel by daytime connections or opt for the overnight service.
The daytime journey from Bohumín takes approximately 4 hours, from Břeclav 6 and a half hours, and from Prague 8 and a half hours. The night train departs after 10 p.m. from Prague and arrives in Warsaw after 9 a.m. The return journey from Warsaw departs before 7:30 p.m. and arrives in Prague at 7:30 a.m.
Direct Daytime Connections
EuroCity (EC) Trains
Daytime connections between the Czech Republic and Warsaw are provided by EuroCity (EC) trains, which offer 1st and 2nd class carriages with compartments and open-plan seating. Seat reservations are mandatory in Poland. The trains are equipped with a bistro or restaurant car, wireless internet access (in the Czech Republic and in some carriages), a 230 V socket for charging electronic devices, a compartment for women traveling alone, and a carriage/compartments for passengers with children under 10 years old. A mandatory seat reservation is required for the transport of bicycles. Last but not least, there is a carriage suitable for transporting passengers in wheelchairs, equipped with a lifting platform.
Direct Night Connections
EuroNight (EN) Trains:
Night trains include 2nd class seating carriages, couchette cars, and sleeper cars. Seat reservations are mandatory. The train also has carriages with a 230 V socket for charging devices.
For passengers in sleeping cars with JLV service, there is a choice of Economy compartments with a shared shower and toilet or Deluxe with a private shower and toilet (in the compartment). The compartment can be used in single, double or triple variants and the compartments are air-conditioned. In addition, the compartments are separated for men and women. Onboard services include bed linen, hygiene kits, breakfasts served by the JLV guide and the possibility of ordering food and drinks from the menu.
Couchette cars offer mixed compartments with a shared toilet. Showers are not available in this car. The compartments are in 4 and 6 bed variants. The couchette is narrower than the bed and you have to make it yourself (bedding available).
The conductor ensures compliance with the night quiet and safety and is present throughout the night.
