Traveling by train to Venice via Vienna is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to get to this beautiful Italian city. The night train from Vienna to Venice takes approximately 11 hours and passengers arrive in Venice around half past eight in the morning. This train offers comfortable sleeping compartments where passengers can enjoy a comfortable sleep during the journey. The second option to travel by train to Venice is the route via Munich. This train leaves Munich a few minutes before midnight and passengers arrive in Venice around half past eight in the morning. The Journey

One of the ways to get from the Czech Republic to Venice is by night train via Munich or Vienna. Passengers can take the option to transfer to the OBB night train, which arrives in Venice in the morning. This option can be used by passengers who want to use the trip to see Munich or Vienna and spend the night on the train.

Another option is a day trip. The transfers are the same as in the previous variant, but the journey continues with the aforementioned day train, which takes 6 hours and 40 minutes from Munich and around 7 and a half hours from Vienna. This connection can be used, for example, with an overnight stay in these cities. Passengers can thus use the time for night entertainment or culture.

What is the train journey like?

If you decide to travel to Venice by train, you will have several travel options to choose from. The cheapest option is to travel in a seat, which is suitable for those who do not need extra comfort. Another option is to travel in a couchette car, which is divided into 4 and 6-berth compartments. These couchette cars are not equipped with a shower, but they provide a relatively sufficient amount of space for passengers. For those who crave more comfort and space, there is the option of traveling in a sleeping car, where you can choose between a 3-bed, double or single bed. These sleeping cars are equipped with a shower (shared in the carriage and in selected deluxe compartments directly in your compartment) and also provide an excellent breakfast for passengers, more space and quality bedding.

How much do tickets cost and where to buy them?

Tickets can be obtained not only at ticket offices and on the e-shop of the Austrian Railways, but also at Czech Railways. Ticket sales start 180 days before the departure date, which gives you plenty of time to plan your trip. However, discounted tickets are limited in number for each price category, which means that the sooner you buy your ticket, the greater your chance of a lower price.
